Program Overview
The Bachelor of Business Administration in Human Resource Management is designed to provide the foundational knowledge to manage an organization's workforce. Aligned with the standards of the Society of Human Resource Management, the program prepares students for a generalist role in organizations of any size or sector and supports student learning and development for the SHRM-CP certification exam. HR professionals who pass the exam report salaries upward of 7%-9% higher than peers who do not, and 63% of those who pass say that the certification played a role in their promotion.
The HRM program is differentiated by emphasizing early student transitions to HR positions while working toward the degree. Students who accept HR assistant positions while taking courses may result in promotions and broader opportunities in a shorter amount of time. Students will explore the fundamentals of human resources theory, HR principles and practices with coursework being offered 100% online.

Several courses in the program have you complete projects for an actual business. Past projects include HR plans for non-profits, volunteer organizations, and medical clinics.

HR Warriors SHRM Student Chapter
HR Warriors serves as a bridge to the professional human resource community and advances the knowledge, understanding, and application of HR principles and practices. The organization (1) supports career exploration for students considering a career in HR, (2) keeps student members informed on trends in the HR field, (3) develops an inclusive, collaborative HR student community of practice, and (4) facilitates student interactions with local employers and HR professionals.
Members regularly network with area SHRM chapters and the organization hosts HR professionals from across the nation to give advice and answer questions from students. This student is also a good way to stay connected with your peers, even if you are hundreds of miles apart! It is an extremely active organization with almost daily participation on its social media channels.

Yoon, Y., & Sengupta, S. (2019). Employee share ownership, training, and early promotion policy as a bundle in enhancing labor productivity: A test of the three‐way interaction effect. Human Resource Management, 58(6), 603-620.
In this study, we demonstrate that employee share ownership (ESO) increases firms' labor productivity only when accompanied by a high level of training and early promotion policy. Our research alerts managers from expecting that introducing ESO will magically solve the managerial problems they may have. The findings demonstrate that early promotion opportunities and training need to reinforce the productivity-enhancing mechanism of ESO.
